Credits

Credit is issued per model. You buy it by card, spend it through the API, trade it in the pools and, once it is switched on, redeem it.

Credit is per model

Tokex issues its own credit for each listed model and is the customer of record with each provider. It never imports a balance you hold at a provider, and provider credit never changes hands. A ChatGPT or Claude subscription is not API credit either.

gpt-5OpenAI$2.50
claude-opus-5Anthropic$15.00
llama-70bMeta$0.60

The demo market’s seed list prices. gpt-5 is the hub: it sits in every pool and is the reference other credits are valued against.

Buying

Buy credit by card with a 5% load fee, shown in the purchase quote before you pay (GET /v1/purchases/quote). Credit mints only when the payment processor confirms the charge, and exactly as quoted.

Spending

A call burns credit at the model’s listed rate. Before it runs, the worst case (the prompt plus the maximum output) is held; what the answer did not use goes back. A call the provider rejects returns its whole hold, and a cap refuses before any provider sees the request, so neither costs anything.

Redeeming

Redemption is built and switched off. When it is on, it pays the lower of the market and list price, less a stated fee, only for purchases past a hold period, and never more in total than the account itself paid in.

When a model is withdrawn

While it stays listed you can trade that credit for another model’s or redeem it. Tokex may also convert stranded credit at a stated rate.
