What is Tokex?
An exchange for LLM credits. You buy credit for a specific model, spend it through one OpenAI-compatible API, and trade it for another model’s credit in open pools when your work moves to a different model.
Is any of this real money?
Not yet. Tokex runs on demo credit: every balance and price on this site is simulated, and nothing is charged. Card payments are built and running in test mode.
Can I move my OpenAI or Anthropic credit onto Tokex?
No. Tokex issues its own credit per model and is the customer of record with each provider. It never imports a balance you hold at a provider, and provider credit never changes hands. A ChatGPT or Claude subscription is not API credit either.
How is the price of a credit set?
By the pools. Every pair is a constant-product pool, so the more of one credit you pay in, the less each unit buys. Pairs without a pool of their own route through gpt-5, the hub. Every quote states the price impact and the fees before you confirm.
Can I cash out?
Not at launch. Redemption is built and switched off, and it stays off until Tokex holds the registrations it needs. When it is on, it pays the lower of the market and list price, less a stated fee, only for purchases past a hold period, and never more in total than the account itself paid in.
What does it cost?
A 5% load fee when you buy credit by card. A swap pays 0.30% to the pool and 0.05% to Tokex on each leg. Spending burns credit at the model’s listed rate. Each figure is in the quote before you confirm.
What happens if a provider withdraws a model?
While it stays listed you can trade that credit for another model’s or redeem it. Tokex may also convert stranded credit at a stated rate.
How do I stop an agent that is spending too fast?
Caps refuse the request that would cross them before any provider sees it, with 402 budget_exceeded. POST /v1/panic, or the panic action in the app, revokes every other key and freezes everything that moves money; reads stay open.
Do you keep my prompts?
No. A receipt records the model, token counts, the credit charged and the key, never the prompt or the answer. The one exception is the response record: while it is on, an exact repeat is answered free from a copy kept for a few hours. You can switch it off per request.
